Overview
The mammography screening performance dataset may be useful to people interested in exploring screening performance metrics in a sample of mammograms in 2005-2017 from 40-74 year-old women in the Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium (BCSC). This de-identified, aggregate dataset is based on 2,512,577 screening mammograms that can be characterized as true positive, false positive, true negative, or false negative. Variables in the dataset include breast density, BCSC 5-year risk of invasive breast cancer, age, exam year, initial and final result (based on BI-RADS assessment), whether breast cancer was diagnosed within one year, and whether the cancers were invasive vs DCIS and advanced vs not. The data are aggregated into 3071 rows (combinations of variable values) represented by at least one exam.
