Numbers are frequencies unless otherwise indicated.
Screening Mammography Examinations: mammography examinations indicated by the radiologist to be for screening, with bilateral routine views done and no other mammogram within the last 9 months, among women without breast implants.
* Cancers = The number of cancers diagnosed within 1 year following an examination with an abnormal initial interpretation (BI-RADS 0, 4, or 5; Note: 3 with a recommendation for immediate follow-up was recoded as 0).
† Numbers in parentheses are percentages of all cancers.
‡ Numbers in parentheses are percentages of invasive cancers of known size.
§ Minimal cancer = DCIS or invasive cancer 1-10 mm; numbers in parentheses are percentages of DCIS + invasive cancer of known size.
|| Numbers in parentheses are percentages of invasive cancers of known nodal status.
# Numbers in parentheses are percentages of DCIS + invasive cancers of known stage.
